Tim Shoults is based in St. Albert as publisher of the St. Albert Gazette and Vice President for Great West’s northern division, with responsibility for the company’s Town and Country and Lakeland operations, covering nine different communities, as well as the company’s overall digital operations.

Tim started his career as a reporter at the Jasper Booster in 1997 and has served as editor, publisher, regional manager and vice-president of content and audience development of community weekly and daily newspapers across Western Canada.

Tim has served the media industry on the boards of the Alberta Weekly Newspapers Association, the BC and Yukon Community NewsMedia Association (BCYCNA), the Canadian Community Newspapers Association, the BC Press Council and the National NewsMedia Council of Canada. He has also served the communities he has lived in on several boards, including Rotary Clubs, Chambers of Commerce and university and hospital foundations.

Tim has a Bachelor of Arts in Canadian Studies from the University of Alberta’s Faculté Saint-Jean, a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Thompson Rivers University (TRU) and a Master of Business Administration, also from TRU.
