Murray Elliott is based in Olds, Alberta. He began his newspaper career at the Airdrie Echo in 1992 and launched the Olds Albertan in 1993. Murray is a shareholder in Great West Media’s subsidiary Mountain View Publishing which serves Olds, Didsbury, Carstairs, Innisfail, Sundre and beyond.

Murray is active in his community. He has served and is still active with many organizations including the Olds and District Chamber of Commerce, and the Kiwanis Club of Olds, He served as president of the Alberta Weekly Newspapers Association and was on the board of the Canadian Community Newspaper Association.
